Christmas Time...It's the bestest time....

Thank you cartoons. LOL Some of the cute songs on Madison's cartoons are very catchy!
Christmas was very good. Madison had so much fun opening the gifts and showing Austin what they got. She was/is such a sweetheart. And of course everyone got very spoiled :)
We did a small dinner which was a pain to cook. Grrrr I never realized how much stuff went into those dinners til now. They turkey (which we got for free from Garrett's work) was very yummy! I made it in the oven. I also made greenbean casserole, potatoes, and some stuffing. I didn't have any gravy so we tired to make it ourselves and it never did set up. Oh well!
This week I've been busy getting things ready to come home AND to move. What a crazy time it is right now. I'm having a hard time getting much done at a time because Austin doesn't want to be put down. We bought him a portable swing thinking that would help and he doesn't like that either. I finally got him to sleep around 9 last night but was too tired to do anything so I went to bed too! Oh well it will all get done eventually. Right?
Ok gotta start the day. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon! Have a good day!

weekend in pictures

Let it Snow........

for now then stop by next week!!! LOL I love the snow and think its beautiful, but hate being out in it. It's too cold!
Well it was a pretty busy weekend with last minute shopping. All done with Christmas! Finally. My sister was gonna come over but decided against it because of the weather. I was bummed but what can u do. I'll see everyone soon! (hopefully).
Got some sleep this weekend too. Gotta sleep in and Austin is starting to sleep alittle bit longer at night. About 3-4 hours at a time.
Got some pictures of our outing on Thursday. Madison doesn't like the snow so didn't get much of her. Saw two bald eagles. They were beautiful. I was enjoying them too much so only got one good one picture. It was nice to be out though.
Oh we saw the house and there is cabinets in the garage and the doors are up. We are getting there :)
Not much else. Just hung out. It was nice!

AHHH this week...crazy!

Ok so first off the potty training thing came to a screeching halt. She didn't want to go sit on the potty at all and kept peeing in her pullups. SO back to diapers we are. I think it is going to need the help of both Garrett and I to do this together. Poor Austin didn't eat good those two days I was trying this cause I was always up and down with Madison while trying to feed him. Ahhh like I said it was crazy!
Finally got my Christmas decorations up. That took forever and felt more like a chore. It usually puts me in the Christmas spirit, but this year I just wanted it done. My fault though, I should have just waited for Garrett to help. ANYWAYS.......
Today I got Madison's last gift for Christmas. I had to drive all the way into Salt Lake to get it but I got it. As Michelle would say, "Oh the things we do for our children!" Too true!
Everyone is good here. This weekend my sister Traci and her hubby are coming into town. Looking forward to a good visit with them.
Hope everyone is having a good week!

Big Girl

I thought since we are going to have bad weather this week that I'd stay home and put Madison in pullups. That was my plan last night. This morning she woke up at 7 and went potty twice by 10, keeping her diaper dry. So I pulled out the pullups and told her they were for big girls and we have to keep them dry. And since then she has gone twice (in an hour AH its gonna be a long day!) I am so proud of her. I haven't had to remind her at all. She has just told me she needs to go and we go! WOW What they say is true. When they are ready they will do it. I'm glad I waited til she was ready. Anyways its only day one (well only 4 hours into day one LOL) We will see how it goes!!
Laura came over yesterday and we did pictures. It was fun. Madison was awesome and Austin did so good! We took some awake pictures and got him to sleep and was able to do two sleeping poses. He slept right through us moving him! Can't wait to get them back. :)
K just had to share our morning. Have a good weekend everyone!!

Look at big he is getting!! He loves his bathtime and is so content to just chill in the water. Madison loves washing his feet! We've been busy over here!! Last week was Madison's friend's birthday part at Bouncin off the walls. It was so much fun. There was a bounce house, a huge slide, an obstacle course, and a basketball bounce court. We had so much fun, and the place wasn't too much to rent out for a party. Too bad everyone lives away from us cause it would be super fun for Madison's birthday.

I got most of the Christmas shopping done. Just need three more things. It's fun. I'm so in the Christmas spirit (yes I know my page needs updating, but last time I changed the layout I messed up the whole blog! Not Fun!) I'm ready to decorate my house now. Tomorrow we are going to do some pictures of the kids. Laura is coming over to play with some poses. OK thats all for now. Pics to come soon!!

2 year old are so funny......

Last night Madison came running into the living room and stubbed her toe on her table. She looks up at us and says, "Ouch, my sock"! Garrett and I couldn't stop laughing! We told her that she better kiss her sock better and she did. She later told us that her toe hurt. Such a funny girl! She also told daddy while we were shopping that she would like to go fishing and hunting. Just out of the blue. Daddy's little girl I guess. She'd rather be fishing than going shopping with her mom. :)
Everything has been going really good. I went grocery shopping with both kids again and it went well. I tried feeding Austin before going into the store so he wouldn't be screaming on the way home, but he didn't really want to eat and ended up screaming on the way home anyways! Oh the joy of having to time everything in a 2 hour window.
Garrett is working a lot of overtime this week, so it will be a long week for us. Hopefully we can get out and do some things so we don't go crazy. Oh and we are planning on coming home the week after Christmas (if all goes good). Figure we need a family visit over the holidays. And it will be nice to show off Austin to those who haven't seen him yet. He's getting bigger and bigger every day. Garrett woke up from sleeping today and asked what I had feed him cause he looked bigger and weighed more. His checkes are filling in~so cute!!
K gotta get Madison settled down for the night. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

First Outings

So grocery shopping went very well. I carried Austin in the front carrier and he just slept. Madison was very good. It took an hour and a half to get through the store and afterwards my back was killing me. Time to get those muscles back in shape!! Had alot of running around to do today. Poor Austin got hungry in the Toy Store so I tried nursing him while I looked around. It didn't go good. He ended up spitting up all over the both of us! It was kinda funny, but not :) Not alot going on here just trying to get through each day. I didn't get much sleep last night and Austin is wide awake right now during naptime. Maybe I'll just try going to bed early.

Oh the holidays

First off I hope everyone had a good holiday. Ours was nice. The turkey didn't taste good but it was still nice to enjoy the holiday at home. Things have been getting better over here. Austin had another appointment on Wednesday and now weighs 7 lbs 10 oz! He also grew an inch. He has a bit of an yeast infection and a little bit of thrush. It seems we have caught it early enough though that it should go away soon. He's still grunting a lot at night but I'm learning how to sleep through it :) And its getting alot better. I feel like I'm getting our routine down and I'm trying to be more lenient with they way things get done. Its working out good. Tomorrow is grocery shopping day and we will see how good things are. We went out and got us an early Christmas gift. An electric fireplace/tv stand. Its awesome and the best part was it was $400 off! WOW! Here are some pics of Austin and Madison doing some tummy time. I took some pictures for his announcments but I'm not really happy with them. I'm really trying to get them out there I promise.

Madness!!

It has been so crazy over here the past two weeks. It seems all we do is sleep and eat. I'm always nursing and changing diapers! LOL oh the life of a mommy :) Its great, really. I can't believe that he's already two weeks though. It's gone by very fast. Garrett went back to work yesterday night and that was hard. Madison was a little brat on Sunday. She didn't want to get dressed and it was cold. She didn't take a nap, just threw a fit the whole "quiet time". Last night Austin didn't sleep well at all. It felt like I was up with him all night. Today was better. We went to Laura's house and played/visited a bit. It was a nice break and she took a nap so I got to sleep a bit. 40 mins but I'll take it. Tonight was a battle to get pjs on. I'm not sure what her deal is but hope it stops soon. She is still very much into her brother and loves him very much. It's so neat to see them interact. He's into her too. I love it :) Ok I just wanted to let everyone know that we were alive over here and doing well.

One Week

Wow it's already been one week since Austin came into our family. Its gone by so fast. It seems all we do is sleep and eat and sleep! He is doing good though and Madison is still so in love with her new playmate! She is always asking to hold him and kiss him and she even helps burp him :) Today we went to the Park for Madison. Her and Daddy had so much fun. Austin didn't like the sun in his face, but he did good for his first park outing :) He just nursed and slept! Nothing new really going on over here. My parents came over on Saturday and we had a good visit passing the little guy around. Madison and her Papa played and she sang songs to him. So cute! Anyways thats all thats been going on over here. I've taken some more pictures but they are still on the camera! Hope to get them shared with everyone soon.

Welcome Austin James!!

November 9th was the big day. Went to Labor and Delivery at 5 pm because I thought my fluid was leaking and I had been having extra pressure all day. From 5-9 pm they ran tests at the lab to be sure (had to do it twice). Daddy and Madison went and had dinner and a bath at 6pm. We had decided to take Madison to Laura's house just in case and if this was a false alarm it would be a good trial run for everyone. I didn't get the results back from the lab til 9pm, that's when they started the IV and penicillin. I was only 3cm then. From 11-12:30 alot happened. Dr Larsen came in and felt that there was some membranes kind of blocking the "water" from braking so he popped that and I got started on some potocin to induce labor. At 11:30 my water broke (weird feeling, I didn't know it was coming like with Madison) and right after, I should say during it all I got my epidural. Very painful like I remember. At midnight I was 6 cm dilated and by 2 am I was complete and ready to have the baby. I had no idea I had gone that fast! At 2:25 am Austin James arrived after only 2 1/2 pushes!! I think with Madison I did 2 or 3 SETS of pushing. He weighed 6lbs 6oz and was 19 inches long. They gave him right to me (after being in the lights and getting weighed) and had me start nursing. It was weird like it was all a dream. I was in a daze so to speak and couldn't really get connected with all that was happening. With Madison they took her and bathed her and I didn't see her until after a few hours when I was able to get some food and relax. I think it took til about 7am to finally get to look and him and realize that he was my son. A very weird feeling for it to take awhile. All is good now. We are home and settled. Got to come home last night. It was a rough night. He just wanted to be held close and suck. Didn't want to the Bink and swaddling wasn't enough so I didn't get alot of sleep :) More pictures to come soon!

Update

Had our appointment on Thursday and I only progressed 1 cm. So now I'm at 3 cm and 60%. Only 7 more to go :) We did talk about inducing in the 39th/40th week. Its good to hear that we have the option just in case he wants to stay in there FOREVER! LOL. Now I'm alittle more at ease about when he is gonna come. I know it sounds weird but I feel better I guess knowing that by the due date (or close too) he will be here. After the appointment we went and walked through the mall and I got my hair chopped off again. I really like it short. So much eaiser to do. Madison and Daddy played and had lunch. Last night when we tucked her in she thanked her daddy for taking her on the slide. It was so sweet. He even got to read her stories, which never happens. It was a nice break. I'm not sleeping at night and its getting old. Last night was night 4 and I'm so tired of tossing and turning! I did take some medicine for my cold so that helped clear me up. It felt good to breath again :) Oh maybe tonight I'll be able to sleep. Ok its off to get some coffee and play blocks with my "roaring" child. (its the new thing she does, she likes to roar!)

Trick-or-Treating

We went trick-or-treating with Laura and her family. She had so much fun running from house to house. She actually fell asleep on the way to trick-or-treating :) She did really good staying with the group and saying trick-or-treat. She got so much candy that her pail was getting too heavy for her, but she still wanted to carry it so I emptied some into her hat. She did good waiting til we got home where we went through the candy together. She was very excited and kept saying how much fun she had. It was a good first time for her! We walked about an hour but that didn't do anything for me and the baby. Oh well he'll come when he comes :) But now I'm ready for him. We got everything we need and there is nothing more that we wanted to do. Make sense?! Oh and we got some of her in her costume on "bullseye" that turned out super cute! Such a fun Halloween!!

No baby here.......yet!!!

SO my contractions pretty much stopped by noon. I laid down and took a good nap and when I woke up they were still there just about one an hour. Not fun having contractions all day for nothing! I didn't mind them, they weren't really painful, they just came enough to be annoying!
Today I feel good, just tired. Garrett didn't sleep good last night and all I wanna do is sleep so we will be napping today~hopefully! We will be taking Madison trick-or-treating with her friends tonight. I'm looking forward to that. Have a safe and Happy Halloween! Oh and don't let your kids eat the gold pirate coins this year. They are from China and are made with the same thing that is getting all the babies sick over there!

Our Morning in L&D

I was up at 5:30 this morning cause I couldn't sleep in bed anymore. My hips were hurting so bad. Came to the couch and tried laying down. Well I couldn't feel Austin, not even a bit and thats not normal so I drank a big thing of water and laid down again waiting to feel him. Still at 6 no movement and I started to freak alittle. SO I called the nurses station and they said drink a big glass of juice and feel for him. 6-10 movements in an hour is normal. Well I only felt him 3 times in an hour so I told Garrett that I wanted to get it checked out. Oh and I was having some contractions 5 mins apart but wasn't too worried about that. Just wanted to know if our little guy was ok. We got to the hospital around 8 and in that time I only felt him 6 times. Got hooked up and he was/is just fine, stinker! But my contractions went from 5 mins to 2 mins apart. They checked me and I'm still 2 cm dilated. Doctor said I could go home or wait. We wanted to go home, shower and eat! Well here I am at home home still having contractions but they aren't so close. The nurse suspects we will be back later today to deliver. We will see.

Doctors Appointment

Well I'm 2 cm dialated and 50% effaced. The doctor did strip my membranes and said if he's ready this will just soften the cervix and help move things along and if he's not ready I'll just be crampy. It didn't hurt and I have been having some cramps/contractions but nothing back to back. I did test positive for Group B Strep which isn't serious I just have to get some antibiotics while in labor. Here is a link to help understand more. I just know its common and they take measures to prevent the baby from getting it. And since they know they can watch the baby closer.

Halloween Party

Had our Halloween Party today for playgroup. Probably the last one I'm going to for awhile, if they even continue it. I made her Jessie costume and absolutely love it! It turned out so cute, if you ask me! She loves it too. Friday I hope to get some pictures on "Bullseye". Anyways the party was fun, but exhausting! It was about 4 hours and it wore me out! The kids all had fun though so it was worth it :) Hope everyone enjoyed the pictures!

We have a doctor appointment tomorrow and get to see how far I am or am not LOL!

Cornbelly's Pumpkin Patch

Had a great time at the Pumpkin Patch this weekend. Madison and Daddy played so hard. Jumping on the big pillows, sliding down the slides, the cow train, and the bouncy castle. She had too much fun! The food was yummy too! Hot dogs and chicken strips YUM. Also we made Cheddar Broccoli Soup. So good.

Thursday we had our appointment and went to lunch at Carnios again. Its my new favorite place. Their sandwiches are so good! Gonna start checking me next appointment which is on Wednesday. I can't believe that I'm almost 37 weeks! Ahhh can't wait :)

Went out and saw the house. We have frame work. If that even makes sense. Got to walk through it and I'm very happy with my upstairs, but my downstairs is hard for me to picture. I'm freaking out thats it's gonna be too small. I'm still excited though and can't wait to have our own house again.

Saturday we had a a BBQ for the people at Garrett's work who are leaving. It was awkward but once things started going it went good. Madison didn't want to share the swing set and that kinda shocked Garrett and I. We thought maybe it was because we have done alot this weekend and she didn't nap. Very cranky. So unlike her to be the 'mean' one! She ended up playing by herself alot. The 9 yo and 5 yo wanted nothing to do with her. It was kinda sad. She'd try to talk to them and play with them, but they just walked off and left her there. I wanted to scoop her up and run home with her. (Prolly just my pregnancy hormones, I know she has to learn these things). I went and got her baby out of the truck and she seemed content then. I think she was fine playing by herself (it's what she does all day), but Garrett and I felt sad/bad for her.

It was a very busy weekend. Looking forward to chilling this week. I got to go grocery shopping Saturday morning by myself, which was so nice! Have a Halloween party on Tuesday, appointment on Wednesday and then Halloween on Friday. And that's all I hope to do. Just relax. Oh and I've been watching the World Series and I'm kinda into it. I've been asking Garrett all these questions since I know nothing about baseball. I haven't been interested in watching baseball before. I'm gonna say little AJ wanted me too and leave it at that :)

Monday, October 20, 2008

OH and......

The Broncos........Not doing good at all! Almost wanna start rooting for the Redskins ;)

OMG Funny!!!

Have you ever laughed so hard you cried? Of course you have! But laughing so hard and being 9 months pregnant isn't so funny! I was watching tv tonight (The Big Bang Theory) and it was funny. So funny that I starting laughing so hard I was crying. That was all good, but then I started to hurt. My stomach was getting hard and I couldn't breath. Then I started crying cause I was in pain, but I couldn't stop laughing. It was great, only not :) Poor Madison she kept saying "Mommy your crying, Mommy your crying!" She was really worried. Sweet girl!

On another note playgroup isn't doing well. I think its done. Nobody wants to participate and I can't do it once the baby is here. SO far nobody has stepped up and has said they wanna help out so I think only two more playdates and its over. We'll see though. The lady, Laura, that I hang out with is a great person and Friend and I see us hanging out regardless. She has family and friends out in Eagle Mountain so we will see her a lot once we move out there. And she has offered to take Madison for an afternoon so Garrett and I can have a "date" before little AJ comes.

Anyways just wanted to share my painful but funny moment. Have a good night!

Getting Ready

This weekend we were pretty busy. Had a BBQ for one of Garrett's friends from Singapore and I spent the morning in the kitchen making some of his favorite sides. Potato Salad, Deviled eggs, and Guacamole. Well Garrett made the Guacamole. It was kinda fun to make all that stuff, and his friend was very appreciative for it so that was nice. Had a good time visiting and relaxing. The peoples house we went to had 2 big Doberman Pincher's and Madison had so much fun playing with them. They were good with her too!

Thursday I picked up my parents from the airport and we had lunch with them before they headed home. We went to Carninos (SP) which was very yummy! And just hung out and played the rest of the day.

Friday we went out to the house. Waste! I'm not going out there anymore. I get more and more frustrated. I just want it done LOL. Then came home and got the house ready for Austin to arrive. Got the car seat cleaned and his clothes put away. Made a spot in our room for his bed and got rid of any extra junk in the house. Just need to get the swing out of storage and cleaned, but that can wait. Yesterday afternoon I had sharp pain/contraction (maybe?) for a good half hour so we called the nurses at Alta View and she said to start timing them. I sat down and tried to relax and they slowly went away. Probably just Braxton Hick contractions again. The pain for that long was kinda concerning but I'm good this morning. We have an appointment on Thursday so I'll probably have him check things out. Hopefully we can tour the hospital then too.

This week is gonna be busy with weekly grocery shopping, playgroups, doctors appointment, and the pumpkin patch. Gonna just hang out today and try and get some scrap booking done, maybe catch up on some laundry. Ahh thats never ending :) Hope everyone has a great weekend.

New Haircut

Madison's new haircut pictures. Before, during, and after! The place was so cool, and the people were nice. There was a little slide for them to play on while they waited, or as I was informed, play on while mommy gets her hair cut. I didn't this time but maybe next time. Neat idea. She got to watch Little Einsteins while the lady cut and styled her hair. She even let them blow dry her bangs. WHAT!?!? LOL Madison did really good and seemed to have a good time. The balloon she got says "cookie cutters" on it and it's tied to a blue snowman cookie cutter and the whole ride home she kept repeating it over and over. So cute.

Some Sad News

My family recently lost a very close friend on Thursday. My dad worked with him and he was a very good man. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Doc. Appt.

Had another doctor appointment for the baby. It went good. I asked about delivery and what his plans were. He said after the next appointment (I'll be 36 weeks) we will be seeing him every week. He said that he doesn't like to "induce" before 39 weeks and if the baby isn't here on his own by week 42 he will induce. So bascially 39-41 weeks is when he likes the baby to come. He also said he can start stripping the membranes at 37 weeks but since that worked so well for Madison (it sent us into labor) I wanna wait until at least 38 weeks. Hope that all made sense. Its good to know that we are on the same track. I wanna do this as natural as we can this time (besides the epidural LOL) if everything goes good. I also asked about how big the baby is and he said he was average but on the smaller side. Which is good for me. I also gained 5 pounds in the last two weeks!! Yay, bring on the chex mix!! LOL Also heartburn is gotten worse. The other night I woke up choking on it. I couldn't breath and thought I was gonna be sick. Not Fun!! And last night I was up every hour with it, so the doctor gave me some better stuff to try. I don't mind it cause its just part of the pregnancy but when I'm not sleeping I need to do something about it. Oh and I got to go to the appointment by myself. Thanks honey! :)

Hmmm other than that just hanging out today. I don't even know what's going on the weekend. Maybe we will all just catch up on sleep. :)

Ok I Think Its Good Now

Wow what a mess this blog has been. I don't know why it got messed up but now it seems to be fixed. Kinda mad that I deleted my old blog before Garrett fixed it, but oh well. I'm moving on!

This weekend my sister came over and helped me with some things around the house. And she came grocery shopping with me. What a blessing. Can she come everytime!! LOL. Gonna have to start having Garrett come with me. Or leaving Madison at home. Went through some more baby stuff and got things alittle more organized. Feeling better about bringing our baby to the apartment.

I'm gonna call on the house today and ask when the projected date of completion will be. The contractor told us that once they started digging they would have a better understanding of when it would be done.

I'm taking my parents and brother to the airport on Wednesday for their trip to Hawaii. I'm jealous. Could you imagine a trip to the beach, drinking drinks, laying in the sun, swimming in the water..........oh sorry I'm back ;) And then I have an appointment after that.

Oh we went fishing on Friday. That was so fun. We both caught a fish. Madison had fun reeling in daddy's fish and she loved touching them. I'm working on posting pictures.

K I think thats it for now. It feels like we did alot, but we didn't really. Oh we got Garretts car fixed. It is so nice to have two vehicles again. K I'm getting on those pictures!!
