Homestead Resort Vacaetion!

Just got back from our overnight stay at the Homestead Resort in Midway, UT. It was really fun and relaxing to get away. It was also exhausting!! You now how it is with kids and their routines. They loved it though and were super excited to go on vacation. We started the trip at Bridal Veil Falls. Just a short stop to take some pictures and read the history. Then it was off to Heber City for the surprise Train Ride. The kids didn't know about this until we were in the parking lot. They loved the surprise. Austin just kept going on and on about the trains and was fascinated with them all. They both were excited to get on and get moving and really enjoyed the scenery out the window. We only did the 90 minute ride so half way up we were in the back and the other half we were in the front. Austin didn't like being in the front because the train was so LOUD!! He got scared and kept telling me to make it stop and he wanted off. After the train we got dinner and headed to the beautiful Homestead Resort where we stayed in the barn!! It was a very nice room that we had destroyed in an hour HAHA the joys of staying with children. We watched a movie and then settled down for bed, which was eventful!! We've never stayed in the same room with both kids. Madison slept with daddy, which she says won't happen again cause he was too annoying and she was too wiggly!! At four in the morning she sits straight up in bed and says, "daddy, will you stop making that annoying sound!" (talking about his snoring of course!) Austin was up about every 2-3 hours, crying. Just was all different to him! The next morning was breakfast, swimming at their indoor pool and mineral bath, a short trip to the Zermatt Resort to feed the goats, and little shopping, and a swim in the Crater. Its a crater thats filled with water, 65 ft deep!, that divers suba in and swimmers swim around in the natural springs. It was alittle scary at first, but very relaxing. Austin didn't like it a first, but I got him in the water and he relaxed. It was different and really neat. So glad we did it. After that is was a yummy lunch at Grannys and home!! The kids did good and we had so fun trying something different!

Pony Express Days

So these events happened at the beginning of June, but we've been way too busy doing fun things and enjoying the weather to post them :) We were finally here to enjoy the festivities that Eagle Mountain has to offer. We started out by going to the local rodeo. It was cold and rainy, but the kids toughed it out and stayed til the bull riding. Madison got to meet a Rodeo Queen and get an autograph from her, which is her new prized possession!! Austin LOVED all the cowgirls!! On our way into the rodeo, out of nowhere, he says " I love cowboys and I LOVE cowgirls!!" It was so cute. So him and daddy pointed out all the pretty ladies at the rodeo and when the Queen came over to talk to Madison he got very shy and was even blushing a bit! Way too cute :)
Next on our list to do was the carnival. The kids loved it!! The fun house was their all time favorite though. I think they both ran through it 10+ times. We put Austin on the small roller coaster with Madison and he loved that too. He had the biggest smile on his face!! But he was not a fan of the spaceships flying high in the sky or the Farris wheel. It was cold at the top and he kept saying "holy Hannah, I wanna get down!" He wasn't freaking out bad, I just think he was ready to get out of the cold. We stayed a good 3+hours, which surprised Garrett. He didn't think we would be there that long.
We also went to the parade. The kids just wanted more and more and more candy! It finally warmed up for that so it was nice to sit outside and soak up the sun, while watching the floats.
Had a visit with my sister and hubby before all this fun madness and a visit with my dad and brother after all of it. It was so fun to hang out with my family. We took Traci and Philip out on the 4wheelers and had a blast! Then took my brother out when he was here. Freaked him out alittle but he had a great time too. He's not one to go super fast or down hills but he's a good sport. Got to sit and talk with them for awhile. Very nice, relaxing visit!
Madison only has three tball games left. We signed her up for soccer, but will NOT coach anything else til they are older!! Its really tough keeping these kids focused!
We wanna do some camping, but can't get a good enough weekend to do it. And it is way too dangerous to go up the canyon with the rivers rushing.
The kids got a new swingset to play in the back yard. They love it! Its the first think they got out to in the morning, jammies and all!!
Hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather!

Madison's Graduation

Madison graduated from preschool yesterday. It was so cute what her class put together. They each got to read a book and sing a song and a few got to do a few lines. Madison was really shy but did a good job. Saying goodbye to her teacher was really hard for the both of us!! Can't believe she'll be in kindergarten soon :(

Trying to Soak up Some Fun.

These past two weeks we have been trying to enjoy the sun because we knew the upcoming weeks were going to be filled with clouds and rain. Looking back now I'm glad we tried to squeeze in as much "sun fun" as we did because this week has been wet! Mother's Day weekend we started our Garden. We have three different tomato plants and three peppers for Garrett and his salsa. We have half a garden box of Strawberries, which we plan on making lots of strawberry jam. We also planted peas, carrots, and green onions from seed. We want to do some lettuce so we can do our own salads this summer. I'm hoping we can learn how to make homemade spaghetti sauce too. YUM!
We did sneak in a small four wheeler ride and I actually rode with AJ on my new bike. It was fun, but I wish I could just relax and ride instead of shifting and thinking of how to stop before I have to.
Madison had two more tball games. She is doing so good and its fun to watch the kids having so much fun. And thankfully the weather was nice for these two games. It just makes it so much more fun. She does have two games this week, Thursday and Saturday, but I'm pretty sure the Thursday game will be canceled due to rain.
This is her last week of school. She Graduates next Tuesday, the 24th. Got her teacher a thank you gift and almost started crying while telling her how thankful we are for her. God Bless our teachers!
Not much in store for this weekend since its raining. Saturday looks nice so I'm sure we will be out in the yard all day. Can't wait for warmer weather so we can start camping :)

Party Week!

We had a crazy week and a half around here. Starting with Madison' Easter Party at school and Easter. Didn't do much around here for it. Talked to the kids alittle about what Easter really means and did small baskets and Easter hunt. Made Madison a shirt for her birthday using freezer paper and fabric paint. Turned out really cute. I think it's gonna be my new thing! Got some great ideas for baby shower gifts :) Madison took cupcakes to school on Tuesday for her birthday. And we had a small party for her on Wednesday. Took her and a friend to Monkey Island, oh and Austin of course! They had a blast jumping around and I was impressed with how Austin was able to keep up with the big kids. Came back to the house and had cupcakes and ice cream and presents.
Madison's big weekend started out with a visit from her Grandma Terri and her first of two swims in a pool! She loves it and I really need to get here into swimming lessons so she'll get out of her brothers floaty LOL. Saturday was her first Tball game!! She did awesome, didn't hit like she can, but all in all they did so good!! GO TUMBLEWEEDS!! After the game Kevin, Michelle, and the girls came out to the house to play alittle and open their gifts. Went to Lunch at MD's and then swimming again at their hotel. Can't believe how much those girls can splash :) After that we came out to the house for the BBQ. Had great food and good company! The girls got to stay the night. They did awesome. They watched a movie and then headed to bed where Kait and Madison stayed up talking while Kenzie passed out, only for alittle bit though. The younger girls told us that Kenzie got up and read a book. At 4am Madison came into my room and said she had nowhere to sleep. The air matress had lost some air and Kenz and Kait were sleeping in the middle. That made Madison sad, but she was ok going back to sleep in her bed, after alittle crying and convincing! The girls got up around 7 and Garrett made us some very yummy apple muffins! Dad hung around for alittle after everyone else left which was nice to get to spend some alone time with him. The kids made him play ring around the rosie!! So cute and they did alittle coloring with chalk together. Very fun weekend and we loved seeing everyone. To those who couldn't come we thank you for all the gifts you sent....See you soon and pictures will come sometime this week!!
